Focus Attention on Annie Duke

Annie Duke might not have came away with her 1st WSOP Bracelet until 2004 but she remains one of the most feared poker players around the ring matches at The Bellagio in Sin City. Annie’s long-overdue World Series of Poker win came with a win at the "forgotten game" of Omaha Hi-Lo.

While players from the "younger generation" of poker run amok after a huge success at the tables, Annie heads home to be "mom" to her 4 children. She was born in New Hampshire and grew up in a family of card players. If you don’t believe that, have a look at her sibling, Howard Lederer, when he plays, Howard taught Annie the correct way to play poker.

However, Annie Duke is not a small change girl and has earned her share of hard tables, which includes eliminating Howard along the way on several occasions.

Earning over $3 million in tournament action, Annie became a advisor to both UltimateBet and actor Ben Affleck, who wanted to build up his abilities to become a power player in poker.

You might just notice Annie at the Bellagio, you will catch her on the tv and you may even compete against her in an online poker match, but do not bank on an easy win. Unless you’re a champion-in-the-making, you won’t defeat her. However, it would be cool to say you sat at the same table as "The Duke".
