Gus Hansen experienced a wonderful year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only one to achieve closing game in three of the events. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You may recall one of the biggest pots in high stakes poker recorded history competing against Daniel Negreanu. Gus secured a massive pot with 4 of a kind against Daniel’s full house. Gus has earned many tv poker appearances and is thought to be one of the greatest enthusiasts around the world. While gambling on internet poker, a different side of Hansen has appeared. Gus often participates in the 200/400 NL max buy in of $40, 000. Hansen usually buys-in for the minimum of $16, 000 and plays very poorly. He waits patiently for a decent hand and then pushes all in. I accept that Gus is an amazing poker player but not even close to the familiar players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is bankrupt, he has little or no reason to sit at the table with the minimum buy-in.
Playing for the min takes almost all of the skill out of big stack poker. Gus is presumed to be 1 of the best players in the world but he can’t buy-in for the total amt.. I think television can skew our view of the real world sometimes. The best players in the world might be players you have won’t have heard of before. Gus can be found participating in web poker on Full Tilt. He usually plays in high stakes omaha eight-or-better and texas hold’em. Gus Hansen has proven himself as a competition player.
