The History of Poker Money

Gaming chips have been manufactured from a varied range of materials in an almost infinite selection of variations since the creation of wagering and the need to track winnings. The most commonly seen components used at this time in the creation of modern poker chips are plastic, clay composite, and acrylics. Clay chips, the primary of the bunch, have been made in America since the late 1800s.

Back in the 19th century, poker players seemed to use any tiny valuable object you can imagine. Early poker players at times employed jagged gold pieces along with chips – primarily made of wood and clay. By the 1900s, poker chip designs began to employ a greater prominence, and the smooth edges of older chips gave way to chips with engraved slits to hold them neatly arranged with each other.

There is little or no debate that poker has increased constantly in acceptance ever since its origin in the 19th century. With the explosive growth of net gambling and specialty TV shows, public interest in poker has feed the fire a lot faster than ever before. Many individuals are initially introduced to poker by television showssuch as "Celebrity Poker" or "Poker After Dark," and many will gamble on their initial hands on the internet. Despite web poker’s rise, nothing replaces the feeling of holding weighty poker chips in your hand, throwing chips into the middle of a poker table, or creating tall pilesstacks of chips after displaying a winning hand.
