Online Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen
Posted in Poker on 06/25/2025 07:25 pm by RudyGus Hansen experienced an amazing year on the WPT where he was the only participant to make it to the last poker table in three of the events. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he paid $400, 000 to play. You may recall one of the biggest pots in high stakes poker recorded history up against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen secured a large pot with 4 of a kind against Daniel’s full house. Gus has earned many televised poker appearances and is considered to be one of the strongest gamblers in the world. While competing in online poker, another side of Hansen has been seen. He frequently participates in the 200/400 NL maximum buy in of $40, 000. Hansen frequently buys-in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very poorly. He waits for a decent hand and then pushes all-in. I believe Hansen is an outstanding poker player but not even close to the everyday players at 200/400NL. Unless Gus is flat broke, he has little or no reason to play at the game with the min buy-in.
Playing for the min takes almost all of the expertise out of big stack poker. Gus is supposed to be one of the best poker players anywhere in the world but he cannot buy in for the full amount. I believe tv can skew our view of the real world at times. The greatest poker players in the world may be guys you have won’t have heard of. Gus can be found participating in web poker on Full Tilt. He generally participates in big stakes omaha hold’em and Holdem. Gus has shown himself as a competition player. Can he use his talents in money rounds?
